What is an RMT?
Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) are health care workers work with musculoskeletal pathologies. Through the mobilization and manipulation of muscular tissue, RMTs are able to treat a wide variety of Conditions.
To become a Registered Massage Therapist, practitioners must undergo 2.5 years of intensive schooling. During this time, RMTs are taught anatomy, physiology, neurology and pathology. During these classes, we are also taught different treatment approaches ascertaining to each individual condition and pathology. Finally, once we get our Diploma's, RMTs are then subjected to a three-part Government Certification Examination (Board Exam). Once all the schooling and registration exams have been completed, only then can practitioners be labeled as "REGISTERED Massage Therapists" .
